Successfully created a working test application using the camera and flash functionality of the iPhone and loaded the app onto a test device. Discussed possible implementations of the backend of the video processing. The route that we are going to pursue involves accessing the camera's video frame buffer, processing each frame to determine if there are areas of high contrast in the predefined "target" region, doing calculations to determine the timing of the flashes, then converting that to Morse and eventually to characters.
